Our school district participated in UIL this past week.  Kade did so good!  I was very proud of him and all his hard work.

1st Listening Skills out of 21 fifth grade students.
1st Listening Skills Team out of 7 fifth grade teams.
Fifth grade participant in Ready Writing.

Tis the Season to Rock the Ugly Sweater!

I am our school district's fifth grade reading teacher.  Earlier this school year we read The Strange Case of Origami Yoda and met a really fun character named Dwight.  Dwight wore an ugly sweater to school one day and had the entire school talking.  So, the students and I decided closer to Christmas we would have an Ugly Sweater Day.  We did just that and had lots of fun!

The Nutcracker

On December 8, the boys and I drove up to Amarillo to see The Nutcracker with Mama Chris.  We had a wonderful time!  It was a beautiful production and a great learning experience for the boys.

FPC Christmas Program 2012

Our church had their annual Christmas program this past Sunday night.  It is just so simple and beautiful!  There are no speaking parts, just beautiful songs.

Kade and Layton were both shepherds this year.  Layton was super excited that he had graduated from an angel!

Hope your Christmas season is off to a wonderful start!

Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

Layton had his Kindergarten Thanksgiving feast on the Tuesday before we got out for the holiday.  He dressed as an Indian.

Family Pictures 2012

I try my best each year to have our pictures made in the fall so that I have pictures to give as Christmas gifts.  Last year we did not have time to get them taken and I was afraid we might fall into that slump, since our lives are only getting busier and busier.  We found the time one Sunday afternoon this month, though, and a local lady came out to our home and snapped a few for us.  Nothing real professional, but loved how they turned out.  We even saw a huge bob cat walking across the wheat field as we were taking pictures!  Here are a few (or a lot) of my favorites!
