Spring Break @ Angel Fire, NM

We went sno skiing with friends and family during our 2013 Spring Break.  Fun, Fun, Fun doesn't even begin to sum it up!

The kids, lined along the stairwell, at the awesome cabin we rented.

This is a snapshot of Kade that was on Angel Fire's photography web site.  They snap pictures of you all day long and then you have the chance to purchase them.

Clint, making his way down the slope.

Sunday skiing down.

We, of course, had to do a lot of fun skiing between the trees and here is Kade coming out of the trees.

Our big ole' group!

The kids had a blast hiking around the cabin where we stayed.

Kade and the big dog that would come play each evening.

Kade tubing.

Layton started vomiting about 30 minutes out of Seymour on our way to Angel Fire and felt horrible almost the entire stay.  So, he didn't get to go to ski school, like we had planned, however, he felt like tubing the last evening we were at Angel Fire.

Kindergarten Rodeo

On March 8th Layton had his Kindergarten Rodeo.  The kids participated in all sorts of fun activities all while acting as if they were wild west cowboys!

Layton is in the plaid shirt on the "runaway, red, round horse".

Layton is pulling the wagon ready to circle the cactus.

Now he is riding in the wagon.

The Spurs

Kade played Little Dribbler's Basketball again this past school year (February & March 2013).  He was on the Spurs and was blessed with an outstanding coach.....his mother.  Ha!  Ha!  They didn't have enough coaches so I was asked to coach his 5th & 6th grade boys team.  It was very challenging, but we had a good season and everyone improved tremendously!  Being the coach, I didn't get any pictures at all.  Plus, Kade had a really bad case of the flu and had to miss two of the six games.  A friend, did snap this one and tagged me on FB.

Kade is an excellent defensive player and I look forward to seeing him continue with basketball in junior high and high school.  Kade is in the black, #20.

Michelangelo in the Makin'

While Kade and I attended the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, Babers took Layton to Sailor's birthday party at How Great Thou Art.  He had a blast!  I believe he was the only boy there, so he asked the instructor if he could do something other than a cupcake like the girls.  He choose a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

4-H Meat Judging

On February 16th, Kade attended the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo Meat Judging Contest with other 4-H members.  I could never have participated in this contest, because I'm a baby when it comes to the cold.  They stand in freezers with frozen carcasses for extended lengths of time!  Kade judged six beef grading carcasses, six placing classes, answered two sets of questions, and had to complete a twenty-five question written exam.  Kade or his 4-H group didn't do so hot, mainly because there were several teams of high school kids from across the state, but they had fun and it was quite an experience.  Seymour FFA actually had the second place team and the highest scoring individual --- we have an awesome meat judging ag teacher!

Valentine's Day

Layton had a wonderful time at his Kindergarten Valentine's Day party!

Kade is in middle school now, so he didn't get a party this year.
