Kade participated in his very last year of Baylor County Youth Basketball (Little Dribblers). I was his coach, along with Clint and Skye. We had a great time and learned a lot about the rules and skills that go with basketball. Kade was #5.
The last week of February Layton's elementary school celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by wearing crazy hats. Layton chose to wear one like The Cat in the Hat. Layton loves to read and gets a big kick out of reading Dr. Seuss's wonderful stories.
On February 2, 2014, Kade showed at his very first major livestock show, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. I can't quite remember how many classes of goats there were, but I believe it was around 10. Each class had approximately 80 goats. Kade was in a heavy weight class. Out of the approximate 80 in his class, Kade and his goat ended up 10th. We were so excited! This just meant a ribbon and $20, but we made the cut and saw that months of hard work paid off.
Kade played with a group of Seymour 5th and 6th graders in the Wichita Falls YMCA youth basketball league during the fall and winter of 2013-2014. He was coached by Blaine Niell, Nicki Slaggle and Maggie Slaggle. He got a lot of great experience and improved tremendously.
I have created this blog as a way for my family and friends, both near and far, to keep up with my two boys. My husband, Clint, and I have been married for 15 years and are blessed with two of the neatest kiddos. I am a teacher and Clint is a farmer/rancher/welder/you name it. We are blessed to live in the country and have a great place for our boys to roam. God is so very good to us!
