June 2014

June brought football and basketball camp and the first annual McAdams Family Reunion.

The first annual McAdams Family Reunion was held at Possum Kingdom Lake June 6-8, 2014.  It was wonderful getting almost everyone together for fun, food, and fellowship.

The weekend that we held the reunion was a special weekend for Possum Kingdom.  The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2014's second stop was held at Hell's Gate.

We only watched the warm up dives on Friday, June 6th, but Hell's Gate was still bustling.  Here is one of many drones that were flying around.

The first two weeks of June both boys spent time at our local football and basketball camps.  I only got pics of Layton at our local b-ball camp.  Mid-June Kade attended the Texas Association of Basketball Coach's camp in Georgetown, Texas.  It was a great experience for him!

he shoots,

he scores!

Kade, Nick Slaggle and Carson Hardin all attended the camp and played together on a team with other kids.  Their team won the tournament played on the last day and Nick got team MVP.

Happy 60th Papa Steve

Clint's dad, Steve, was at our house on his 60th birthday.  So we surprised him with a cake and mini birthday party.

The kids led him into the kitchen blindfolded.

Christmas with Papa Steve

The boys had an early Christmas with Papa Steve on Friday, December 17.  They received clothing, toys and a Pillow Pet.  Layton's favorite item is a rodeo play set he received and Kade's is the Pillow Pet.  It is extremely soft!  Clint and I had to be in W.F. for several hours, so Papa Steve & Kay kept the boys and let them open their presents, therefore, I wasn't able to snap pics of the actual unwrapping of the gifts.  Here is a pic I snapped of the McAdams men.

Weekend with Papa Steve & Kay

Two weekends ago, Clint's dad, Steve, and his wife, Kay, came to visit us.  They could only stay for one night and part of a day, but we had a great visit.  They came down to watch the boys play soccer.

Steve always bring the boys gifts and candy.  This time was no different, plus he brought them a lot of Halloween items that we had lots of fun with.  Here are some pics from that weekend.

Layton and Kay.  Layton is sporting one of the Halloween gifts.

Layton played goalie for one quarter of his soccer game.  He loved it and was like an animal after the ball!

Corn Dog

Papa Steve, Clint's dad, gave Layton a horse for his birthday.  Layton loves riding, and Corn Dog is the perfect horse for him.  Corn Dog is very laid back, gentle, and reins really well.  Layton's favorite food at this time also happens to just be corn dogs, so his horse came with the perfect name!  Thanks Papa Steve & Kay.

Weekend with Family & Palm Sunday

I can't believe it has almost been a month since I last posted.  We have been extremely busy!

Clint is working on creating a "Men Den" in one corner of his shop.  He has done a lot by himself, which makes for slow progress, though.  So, he was super excited when his dad, Steve, came down and helped him for several days the last weekend in March.  The boys, were of course, excited to see Papa Steve, too.  They didn't get to spend as much time with him as they would have liked, because Daddy worked him too hard!

That same weekend my mom had a cousin visit us all for the very first time from Colorado.  It was nice to meet her family and figure out how we are all kin.  We all met up at my aunt and uncle's in Megargel, where they have a party shack equipped with an old time jail cell.  We teased our Colorado cousins that they came to Texas and got thrown in jail!

Sunday, March 28th was Palm Sunday.  Each year the children of our church march in waving palm leaves while we sing our opening hymns.  Both boys did a great job and enjoyed the activity.
