Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - Day 1

Our summer went out with a big bang....my parents invited us to go with them to Playa del Carmen, Mexico!  Growing up, my family went to Mexico several times, therefore I knew I always wanted my boys to experience it and all the fascinating things that make it so special.

Here we are getting to Mexico and then quickly making our self right at home on the first day!

The boys playing in an art exhibit at our DFW terminal.

Boarding the plane.

Made it to Mexico!  Waiting to be bused to our resort.

Enjoying our "Welcome to Mexico" refreshments!

Each day after the maids left, we would come back to find these cute towel creatures.  This elephant welcomed us the first day in our room.

First stop was one of the many restaurants at the resort for lunch.  Kade and Layton could not get over the "free" food!  We never could explain the all-inclusive plan to them.  Each restaurant had a kid buffet, too, which made them love meals even more.

Next stop...the beach!

These little animals were everywhere!  They are called Coatis.

Always an iguana or two running around!

By the end of the first day Layton turned to me and asked if we could just move to Mexico!  This is even more funnier, because he was not wanting to go.  He was afraid of the plane crashing, bed bugs and speaking Spanish.
